The dissection of the shoulder girdle:

After reflecting the skin and fascia from the upper part of the arm, the deltoid forming the bulk of the shoulder and lying in the upper part of the arm will be observed. Identify the origin and insertion. Attempt to identify the cutaneous and the motor branches from the axillary nerve at the posterior border of deltoid. The cephalic vein runs between deltoid and pectoralis major. Next, separate deltoid from the clavicle, acromion, and the spine of the scapula. Reflect the muscle and observe the branches of the axillary nerve and the anterior and posterior circumflex humeral arteries.  The muscles around the shoulder will now be more superficial; identify subscapularis, teres minor, teres major, supraspinatus and infraspinatus muscles.
